Guest guest
I have great success with either of these methods: (1) Take a small plastic container (something you don't mind throwing away), put in some ripe banana slices, cover container tightly with plastic wrap and poke a few slits in the top with a sharp knife. The flies are attracted to the sweet banana, fly in and can't get out. Once your infestation is under control - throw the whole thing out. (2) Take a beer bottle and fill it a third of the way up with strong kombucha. Make a cone shape out of card stock and insert the smaller end into the top of the beer bottle - secure it in place with tape. The fruit flies go into the bottle and again, can't get out. I keep one of these sitting next to my kombucha brewing area all the time. And I rarely see a fruit fly hovering over my precious brews. Good luck!
