Guest guest
I am relatively new to making KT; my first 6 batches have been tasty and I am loving it. I am not doing second fermentations - after reading here of the dangers of exploding glass I decided it wasn't worth it; I love the tea just as it is anyway even tho I have been hooked on GTs flavors for years. I just tasted the current batch brewing and it is very weak, watered down tasting. I am using a crock with a spigot to brew in and often drink it at various stages as I usually run out before the new batch is ready. For this last batch I decided to make more and instead of one gallon made 1 1/2 gallon. Unfortunately, silly me, all I did was add the extra half gallon water to the usual ratio of tea bags and sugar I had been using for one gallon. After tasting today...about day 7, and seeing how watered down it is, I thought I would just brew some concentrated tea and add to the crock. But when I took the towel off the top - wow - the beautiful scoby is right up to the top! There is no space to add more liquid.......well perhaps a cup or two could be poured in. So now I am pondering how to concentrate the taste. Any suggestions, ideas, thoughts? Thanks! Janice
