Guest guest
1. You might contact your school district's special ed department to find out if there's anyone (such as an in-home trainer or paraprofessional) who's willing to work in your home. We found a couple of people that way. 2. We also found a nice woman through a nanny agency, who works for us a few hours several days a week. We used one of the cheapest agencies around, and though I wasn't thrilled with the way they did business, I am happy with our nanny. She didn't have any experience working with children with autism, but she has been very open to learning. 3. Angel-sitters has a few babysitters who have worked with special needs children. One of the women was NOT a good match for us, but there have been a couple of other women who were great with my son. . 4. We were looking for some night-time attendants recently. I sent an e-mail out to a bunch of friends - I ended up with a lot of good leads and hired three of them. 5. Collaborative for Children might be helpful 6. Would the school afterschool program or the Y be appropriate? I don't think they can deny access based on disability, but I don't know if they would provide the appropriate care.
