Thinking over all of this

Hi ladies..

I have been going through my checkbook, insurance claims, and stacks

and stacks of medical bills that I am having to pay monthly on. My

daughter was born with severe plagiocephaly and torticollis, later

to be diagnosed with severe infantile scoliosis. We were told by

the pediatrician that her plagiocephaly would improve on its own.

It did not, because of the torticollis. We started telling the

pediatrician at her first check up that something was wrong she

couldn't turn her head to the left, and he just blew us off. He

continued to blow us off until I finally demanded a PT consult.

About 3 months later we noticed the scoliosis which we have been

told was probably a result of the severe torticollis. My child has

worn a DOC band, had over 16 months of PT, had to have her SCM

released due to the severe nonresponsive to tx torticollis, 3 casts

for the scoliosis and is now in a TLSO. I pulled my credit report

and I have 9 pages of medical stuff that has been reported. We have

been paying monthly but honestly it is all we can do to keep our

head above water and now on top of it all, my credit is ruined. I

truly feel like if the pediatrician had not blown us off she would

not have gotten so bad. I am not a sue happy person, I am a RN and

realize how many people are sue happy. I just need some help

getting rid of all these medical bills. Has anyone here ever heard

of someone filing suit and does anyone know the outcome of it?

Please don't take this post the wrong way, I am just trying to

figure out if there is anything we can do, and I truly do blame her

doctor for her case being so severe.
