Guest guest
Soups really take well to freezing. So you can make a *huge* batch and even freeze it in individual portions if you have room in the freezer. I have my own refrigerator (what used to be the spare one) because I eat so totally different from my parents. My mom always teasingly complains about my food cluttering up the fridge. LOL. She also complains about my juicer, and my Vitamix, etc. But always in a loving way. I love getting new recipes!! Even ones that arent vegan can easily be adapted (usually). And if they call for oil, I leave that out as well. It will be easier for you since you don't follow my " strange " eating habits. My mom teases me about that, too. If I say I'm going to make something for a potluck, she tries to get me to use one of her recipes for fear no one will eat mine. Well, people have eaten my food and loved it! What they didn't know sure didn't hurt 'em.....in fact, it probably made them a bit healthier! LOL Tonight, a neighbor brought over some homemade cookies, and I have eaten some. UGH!!! I feel nauseous but that didn't stop me from eating another one just a minute ago. Gotta have the willpower to say no! They are so gooey and caramely.........::sigh::. Maybe some nice carrot/brussels sprouts juice will make me forget the delicious cookies! (And yes, I actually like that juice LOL) Moeser *~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ The Evolution of Spirit http://www.ericmoeser.com *~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ Need help reducing cholesterol? Then, a few weeks down the line I have a nice meal, and I don't have to cook! So maybe you can try that Sandie. Moeser I think I'll be trying that in the new year. Maybe making a few dishes each week and then freezing a portion for later on. Sanie, Tae and Bo who will also try searching for new recipes as well )!!!!!! Guest guest
> I love getting new recipes!! Even ones that arent vegan can easily be adapted (usually). And if they call for oil, I leave that out as well. , I have gotten into similar habits. I've adapted my family spaghetti sauce so that it is vegan. Instead of ground beef I use veggie ground, and it tastes great. Instead of the olive oil, I use red wine. I also make vegan chili with the veggie ground or TVP. I've converted my spouse to soy products, and he's finding that tofu is not necessarily the only soy product. Although I'll never be a vegetarian (I still eat dairy, chicken, eggs and fish), I'm eating more vegetarian dishes than I used to.

I replaced that by veggie ground, which is actually easier, because you don't have to brown and drain, which adds a step to the process. I could post my spaghetti sauce recipe. It's a favorite at home, and it's been handed down 4 generations (but mine is modified from the original). As far as my veggie chili, I just use a packet of Old El Paso chili seasoning and follow the directions for their chili but instead of using beef, I use veggie ground. I actually think it tastes better than with ground beef! Janick

Guest guest
Janick, you are correct, MorningStar Farms has GREAT meatless products...they have 'ground meatless' and sometimes I use the 'breakfast patties' and crumble them in my spaghetti (they're kind of spicy)...also, their imitation buffalo wings are very very tasty too...my mouth is watering now thinking about all the wonderful MorningStar Farms products. Toni---who is not really vegetarian but uses Morning Star Farms products more than she uses meat for in-home cooking. Sandie, I find veggie ground in the refrigerated area of the produce section in most supermarkets. The brand name is St-Yves, but I think it's only available in Quebec. However, I know that in the states, Morningstar has some veggie ground (I don't know if it's spelled like that though). It might be in the frozen food section. We don't have Morningstar or Boca burgers/products in Canada. At least, I've never seen them in grocery stores here. I have to buy those when I go to the states (along with some diet sodas... we only get diet coke/pepsi and diet 7up/sprite) Janick
