Jeanne,

That is a long time, but if you're still draining, a

must. Just think of how you'd feel with all that gunk

accumulating inside your chest!

Just be patient. It will be over soon!

Do you have any idea how long it takes for MENTOR to analyze the ruptured implant/s that were sent to them and how long it would take for them to send my plastic surgeon the report on this? I am curious to see what if anything was found. I am not sure whether or not the doctor would notify me. Also, would it be a good idea to ask for a copy of the report or would this make the doctor too defensive?????

THanks

Thanks Patty.... I just thought that someone from the group had commented that Mentor had analyzed their implants, found mold (fungus), sent the doctor a report asking him to have the patient be treated by a doctor, etc and the doctor failed to call the patient, and/or even acknowledge that there was a problem. After hearing that, I am scared to death, because I know that I am still sick from these things!

Thanks

Diane . . .

This is something to ask your doctor. I've never heard

of a doctor getting a report from the manufacturer's,

or, if they do, giving a copy to the patient. I

suspect it's a one-way street.

But . . . the only think I know to do is to ask!

,

Unfortunately, I was not given a choice as I was told that they would pay for removal and replacement. I had to sign a form with the P.S. to send them to MENTOR or they would NOT pay. Catch 22!!!

Diane

I had a rupture Mentor repl back in 99. Apparently the dr sent it back to them and they tested it and sent him a report within about a month and a half. He never bothered to share it with me which sucks as I probably wouldn't be here sick now if he had. I would ask the doc. They do test them and send a report - mine was a two pager. I didn't realize they did that until 4 years later when I received my medical records back from my atty
