Guest guest
Hi I am sorry that you are suffering from the addition of fibromyalgia as well as stills. I just wanted to tell you that I am on a small dose 112 mg of effexor and have had no adverse side effects. I know that everyone is different but it might cheer you up a bit to know someone has taken it with no ill effects. I am sorry that you are so poorly at the moment Best wishes Joan U.K. _____ From: Stillsdisease [mailto:Stillsdisease ] On Behalf Of Christenson Sent: 08 November 2007 16:54 To: Still's Disease Group Subject: Update, and other things Hi Everyone, I saw my rheumatologist at the University of Michigan yesterday. I have been diagnosed with Fibromyalgia in addition to AOSD. In order to be referred to the clinic at the U of M that specializes in treating fibromyalgia I need to be completely of narcotic pain meds. That is something that hasn't happened since I woke up with Still's on October 15, 2004. The doctor's are also adding colchicine to my drug coctail to start treating the FM (fibromyalgia). They want to switch my antidepresent to Effexor (?sp). I am not looking forward to that. Last year when they tried to switch me to cymbalta, I went Blind for 2 months. The last thing I need is that to happen again. They also decided to run a genetic test to see if I have a Persistent Fever Genetic Disorder instead of AOSD. My new Fellow doesn't think I have AOSD, my staff doctor believes the diagnosis of AOSD is correct. But since this Persistent Fever Disorder can be tested for with a blood test, Dr. Roessler figures it wa s at least worth eliminating. They did prescribe the rituxan again. But this time they only prescribed 2 infusions 2 weeks apart instead of the 4 infusions I have received before. We will see how everything works. Right now I just want my symptoms to be reduced for a while again. I am now only sleeping for about 2 hours at a time if I can sleep that long without waking up. If my e-mails start being incoherent I'm sorry. when I can't sleep I e-mail. I have caught up on a lot of my correspondence. To those who are new, Welcome. I am sorry you have had to find us, but this is a great group. I know the group has helped me through some rough times. Also for those new to the group my area of expertise is dogs and dog training. I have a service dog named Coco. I have been training dogs for 18 years. I also trained my service dog myself. I will try and post a picture of Coco and me if I can figure out how to do that. To Everyone who is having a lot of problems be it the dragon, or family illness, etc. I am praying things are getting better for you. Good Luck and I hope we all can have a pain free day. Guest guest
Thank You Joan and for your encouragement. It does make me feel better. I know I am hesitant about switching to Effexor because of what happened when I tried Cymbalta. I am trying to be positive, but sometimes it is hard. I am scheduled to do another presentation. This time it is at my church on Sunday evening Nov. 18th. Please pray that everything goes ok this next week and that I will be well enough to do it. The church and I knew we were taking a chance that My health would be bad, but we decided to schedule it on faith that God will make me well enough for it. Plus I insisted they have a back-up plan in case, I am not able to do it. Everyone Thank you for your support. I really appreciate it. , Fayette, OH __________________________________________________
