Guest guest
I am so happy for her!!! Great news !!!!! Noelle (12-2-01) Ian (8-15-04) Whoo hoo! Awesome news!!! I received a call from 's Ortho's office today. Dr. Crawford has reviewed 's films and charts with Dr. (in Texas) and they concur that everything looks great. What this means is THE CERVICAL FUSION IS OFF!! She won't have to have that done in October, and we don't have to see Dr. Crawford until say March or so. She has not had a surgery (including a lengthening of the VEPTR) since April of 2006. And she is doing great! She is going to have a mole removed on her arm, but that is minor compared to the back surgeries. She is going to be very happy when she hears she won't have to miss school. Guest guest
Hey, it was cool that he came to Cincinnati and assited with 's implantation surgery, and that he keeps up on her with Dr. Crawford. Dr. Emans, in Boston, also keeps up on her progress through Dr. Crawford and when we make trips back to MA. they are awesome physicians, and wonderful men. Guest guest
You know, I don't think I have posted anything about it because it was " just another surgery " and I don't mean that in a flip, sarcastic way. I just mean it in a " ok, this is the next step kind of way. Her back is looking good, so Dr. Crawford was ready to move on to the next step. To be honest, until he mentioned the cervical fusion, I had completely forgotten that we would have to address her neck at some point. We had been focused on her back for so long. Plus at the time, he was chuckling over me coming into his office on crutches - lol. Oh, and I had my last appt with the ortho and my foot looks good. So now we will see what happens in March. Oh, and I have to schedule the removal of a mole from her left forearm, but compared to the VEPTR surgery, piece of cake, I am sure. gail heather@... wrote: Gail! Thats wonderful! What a relief! I had no idea that you were waiting to find out if she needed a cervical fusion. I know this feeling (fear of the unknown) and its a scarey one. I am so happy for you both! No doc appts until March. Guest guest
Sorry I am jumping in on the conversation, but I was wanting to know how old was your daughter when she had the VEPTR put in and what was the curve of her spine? I am trying to make a decision between to procdures for her back. It's funny that I have been crying all day b/c I couldn't make a decision and then the first email I read is a very HAPPY note about how good VEPTR's are. > > > > I received a call from 's Ortho's office today. > > > > Dr. Crawford has reviewed 's films and charts with Dr. > (in Texas) and they concur that everything looks great.
