Guest guest
people interested in the Campaign for REAL MILK on page A12 of the Vancouver Province newspaper, today July 26 2009, is an article which illustrates that we are on the right track ... The Campaign for REAL MILK is leading the way as old institutions are passing away and new methods come into practice it's about a business venture in Abbotsford British Columbia which will take manure from local farms and turn it into various products, particularly, methane for generating electricity. The system of anaerobic digestion - as developed by the firm PlanET BioGas Solutions - is proven to work. It's not really a new idea, only a classic piece of science, perfected and applied. Thus, it's only a matter of time 'til it is normal practice here in America. my old man used to tell a joke about the difference between an optimist and a pessimist ; two brothers had been hoping to get a pony from Santa Claus. They woke up Xmass morning and headed out to the barn ... but there was no pony in sight, just a pile of manure as high as their heads. They pick up shovels and start digging, but the pessimist soon quits. A while later, their father comes out and finds the optimist still shovelling. He asks his son what's going on. To which the optimist says "with all this horse manure around, I figure there has to be a pony in there somewhere!" Point being, as Buckminster Fuller taught me : if framed properly, seeming problems are opportunities .... the technological solutions for production of high-quality food, are already there for those who persist. People who take the initiative, and do the work to put them in place, are the ones who will profit. Not too long and we will see a miniaturized model of this process, for the small-holding.
