Guest guest
Good luck and thanks for the info...on a side note back one year ago when my lymph nodes where swelling up on my neck I had a ton of blood work done and the only thing that looked unusual was a positive for a possible past Epstein -Barr infection. I also here EB is a common link in Stills patients. Mandi Florida In a message dated 3/13/2008 2:47:35 P.M. Everyone told me that's normal for a first time mammogramm, esp wtih large breasts. So i went today. They did the studies and then a dr. reviewed them and then they decided to go ahead and do an ultrasound. The radiologist came in then and showed me where there is a 7mm mass in my left breast. Said I would have never felt it, it's too small and that it's got a 90% chance of being benign. Called a fibroadenoma. I alraedy had a gyn appt scheduled for Monday beacuse i have a tiny little cyst elsewhere that i've had for a few months that isn't going away. So he'll go over the report on my breast then too, and we'll schedule a biopsy. When the radiologist told me it was 7mm I laughed and said that I recently had a kidney stone of that size removed. He thought that was funny, lol. I am reading up on these and, very interesting, " Conversely, fibroadenomas may grow rapidly during pregnancy, during hormone replacement therapy, or during immunosuppression, in which case they can simulate malignancy. In immunosuppressed patients, the etiology of multiple or growing fibroadenomas appears to be related to Epstein-Barr virus infection. " Interesting stuff. I'll let you know what the doc says Monday.
