Guest guest
Well, I just finished up Be a Knockout with Kendra. I love this workout. While I was previewing it it looked so easy. It is 30 second cardio intervals throughout. It doesn't use any equipment at all. I had thought I would wear my weighted gloves for it. I am glad I decided not to. It was harder for me than it looked, but not so hard that I couldn't push through, but it was so fun and I loved it. I feel very worked out now. I love the fact that you can customize the workout, I did it in pretty much the order that is on the box, but then I put the booty bonus on and then the cool down. This is one of my new faves and I will do it often. I think it is available on the total fitness site, if so, maybe they have a preview of it. It does have quite a few squats and lunges in it, I know some of you aren't crazy about those. It also has some burpees (they don't call them that, but that's what they were back in the day when I was younger) and some plyo moves. For those of you that are stronger than I am, the weighted gloves would be good with this. If anyone tries it, I would be curious to know how you like it. in CA
Guest guest
Hi ,I love Slow and Heavy! A weight vest is a great way to load the legs if your arms are max'd out with the barbell. You can get shorter dumbbell handles for the plate weights. This is how I used to do those plie squats before I purchased kettlebells. Now I use a kettlebell for that section. Have fun! Today I decided to finally use my new barbell that I bought. I did Cathe slow & heavy legs & shoulders. I had a few problems with it. I definitely need to get me a barbell pad, not sure where to look but I will find one somewhere, it really hurt my neck and shoulders. The second problem that I had is that my legs are much stronger than my arms. I wanted to use 30 pounds for the squat portions, but I was not able to lift the barbell over my head with that much weight so I had to drop down to 20 pounds, which was okay, but I probably could have used a little more, but that will have to do for now. Also, there were some plie (sp) squats in there where Cathe was using a 40 pound dumbell, I don't have anything near that heavy, plus I think that would be way too heavy for me anyways, I just used a 15 pound weight plate, which ended up being too light, but the 25 was too hard for me to get a good grip on, I do need to get some heavier dumbbells or maybe even a kettlebell for this type of things. All in all, I really did like this workout, I know I am going to feel this in my shoulders all day today. Have a great day everyone. in CA
