Guest guest
Ok this is war! I have lived in Florida twice and spent months at a time staying with my daughter when they were stationed there and there are a few rules about driving down there,1, never follow a driver wearing a hat! 2,never follow a qtip (white haired person.) 3, anyone riding a 3 wheel bike on a busy main road should be allowed to get to thier destination before you move your car.If stopped by the cops, always say you were born and raised there.(for some reason they thinkĀ Florida is sinking into the ocean from all the transplants.Compared to snow there is no comparison. You win!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Unfortunately we live in a summer vacation spot, also very popular with fishermen and hunters. We love September,we can actually find a parking space at the grocery store! Thats right, one grocery store.Every place has pros and cons, but I'm not leaving the sound of the waves hitting the shore,or my white Christmas's,Just thought I'd comment on the snow bird thing! love Elly
Guest guest
Elly, you're too funny! The snowbirds start coming back around September or so although the BIG influx is now. Shopping is no longer a pleasure at Publix let alone working there. I don't dare go to a store for gifts and such between black Friday and Christmas - all my shopping is now done online and G-d forbid I have to go to Wal-mart for anything I'll wait until about 9pm to go and I'll still park by the garden center. There are a great many draw backs to being down here - I'll give you that, but being able to move around a little easier, not having to wear 112 layers in order to go outside for the mail and not changing seasonal clothes in my dresser drawers are definately pluses in my book. Take care and be well. ellen
