Yes the important decision making falls in our laps and put upon us to decide what is in our best interests while we are confused and overwhelmed with it all and trying to understand enough the complex medical issues concerning HCV - liver disease and tx. Our decision to try tx and in early stages falls upon us because just like may other medical issues about HCV and causing liver damage and disease there are still too many medical unknowns and different medical opinions - Dr pt care and tx medical guidelines and on many other medical subjects and topics. HCV is an ongoing medical research

project. Quantitative viral load testing is a very complex lab test also geno typing too that can be ordered at the same time. It usually sent out to labs that can process handle it and send the report back to our Dr's. It can take up to a week or more for the final report to hit back to our Dr's. Viral load fluctuates and alone is not a good indicator of HCV and liver disease stage and grade. It is used for tx guidelines responding to tx or becoming clear or not or to show a flare-up. NO Alcohol at all. It is toxic a bad mix to

anyone with a liver causing disease or damage a very bad habit to be in and with emotional issues having HCV other medical problems and on Rx's. Alcohol and some drugs work as a depressant when we are already dealing with depression. Take a nap try to relax and control or stop the brain overload. You have time and to process it all and get back to us when you can and are ready. Love and Hugs. Anyway he said come back in 6 mths. I asked for genotype but it didn't come back from the lab? I wonder why, I wanted to know. He told me my viral load meant nothing. Anyway I guess I'll wait and see and learn and figure out whats best. Of course he told me not to drink but maybe twice a year. I had stopped. But i told him I would enjoy a glass once in a while, until they told me my viral load was high.(i used to drink heavily) He didn't mentioned all the drugs I do.

lol medications i mean. Going to take nap.................................

FDA now recommends everyone treat as soon as possible. Age, health and viral load plays a big factor in SVR percentages. Best results are obtained when we are healthier (lower viral load ) and younger. No time like the present. When i was diagnosed 5 yrs ago the recommendation was to wait and see if a better treatment comes along. It didn't, i got 5 years older and sicker, wish i hadn't waited.
