Guest guest
Kirk, I looked this up on wikepedia for you, I am a nurse, but I've been out of work since April with the Dragon, and didn't want to trust my memory, so here you go, glad they are upping your dose. You might feel better once you are back within normal limits. so how are you feeling today??? you know we all worry.... I have some good news to report.... now that the throat infection is gone I am having my SECOND GOOD DAY IN A ROW!!!! I almost forgot what it was like to feel GOOD!!! Boy I hope this is not just a tease!!! -Jo Signs and symptoms Mild hypokalemia is often without symptoms, although it may cause a small elevation of _blood pressure_ (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blood_pressure) ,_[3]_ (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hypokalemia#cite_note-2) and can occasionally provoke cardiac arrhythmias. Moderate hypokalemia may cause muscular weakness, _myalgia_ (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Myalgia) , and muscle cramps (owing to disturbed function of the skeletal muscles), and constipation (from disturbed function of smooth muscles). With more severe hypokalemia, _flaccid paralysis_ (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flaccid_paralysis) , _hyporeflexia_ (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hyporeflexia) , and _tetany_ (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tetany_(medical_sign)) may result. There are reports of _rhabdomyolysis_ (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rhabdomyolysis) occurring with profound hypokalemia. _Respiratory depression_ (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Respiratory_depression) from severe impairment of skeletal muscle function is not uncommon. Some electrocardiographic (_ECG_ (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ECG) ) findings associated with hypokalemia are flattened T waves, U waves, ST segment depression, and prolongation of the _QT interval_ (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/QT_interval) .
