Guest guest
I'm hanging on by a thread, literally. My headaches are at a level they haven't been at since I first got sick. I have blown my old record away in that I'm fast approaching 50 days in a row with a headache, although ( & THANK GOD) they aren't always totally horrendous. This past weekend we had a BYE (off week for our team) and my wife & I took the kids to an indoor water park. I've been there before and it felt good the last time, but this time was a HUGE mistake. I may have had 2 functional hours, the rest were spent in agony. I've been for more bloodwork in the last two weeks than I've ever been with the exception of while hospitalized. My RD & I have been playing phone tag for over a week. I know my Liver enzymes are up (and don't give a shit as there isn't a damn thing I can do about them) and my potassium is low (again) along with a few other screwy results. I hope this is readable as I'm typing with 1/2 of an eye open, and can't read the screen. I will force myself at all costs to stray as on my feet as possible as we have 2 games left, are in a 3 way tie for 1st and should have little difficulty winning the super bowl in 4 weeks (barring a coaching " F " 'up) and I owe it to these kids, as I've been coaching 15-16 of them since they started to play when they were 5. I'm the only coach on the team that has been with this entire group the whole way. We made & lost the big game 2 years ago (12-0) but we have already defeated that team 44-6 this year! The only game we lost our idiot Offensive coach's " gave away " by running a double reverse on our own 3 yard line (kid got hit, fumbled and the other team fell on the ball for a free TD.....and with under a minute to play we had the ball at their 45 on 4th & 8, Any moron knows you punt the ball and let them race the clock...not these TFI's!! They went for it (a pitch no less) and we lost 12 yards giving them the ball on our own 43 with 45 seconds to play. We have 27 kids on our team and everyone is entitled to a minimum of 8 plays (so long as they show up for practice)...well it just worked out where two kids had to get a fe wmore plays in and they picked the perfect play as they ran right over these two little guys. We stopped them at the 3, and by the time they spiked the ball there was time enough for one more play. They scored. What can you do about it??? Not m,uch but I know we can beat them if we don't beat ourselves! As far as goes, he not only leads the team in tackles, TFLs (Tackles-for loss), sacks, forced fumbles & fumble recoveries, but leads all but one of those categories throughout the entire league. Every opposing coach at the end of the game pulls him aside to congratulate him (except for the poor losers) and he is playing way beyond even my expectations. Me.....I'm hurting...BADLY! I am getting the rash back on my chest at night (but the bastard won't show up in photos!)....my head is killing me.....my body hurts like hell....I'm getting those uncontrollable chills a few times per week again (I'll take the headaches although they are always present with the chills) as I can't move at all with the chills. I also did a dumb thing last week. My left foot was as itchy as all hell....so I kept scratching it. This was weird as it was right on top of the foot where I've never encountered anything like this before.Well, scratching it with my other foot went too far, and now there is a hole in my foot that hurts like hell! It is finally starting to dissipate, but that wasn't my kind of fun. Other than that I've been hanging on as best I can...sending out jokes as they are easier than writing things when you can't see shit! Plus my Cowboys are starting to SUCK.........you get the overall picture. I just have that sick feeling that the resort & I are going to become good friends again this year, and if they take care of the damn pain I'm not going to argue too much at first...but I am at the end of my " pain rope " ! Even Oxy 80 isn't ridding me of pain, they are just dulling it a shade and making me tired. Plus the only time I can take them is at night or find someone to drive way out of their way to get us to football as I live 8 miles from the damn field!! The next closest guy is 2 miles closer. I'll try to stay in touch, but NEED to feel at least a little bit better, at least enough to carry me the next 4-5 weeks! Kirk., > > Hey Kirk, where are you? Guest guest
Hi Kirk, you are right up my alley with low potassium,it was the bane of my existance for many years.Come to find out my blood pressure meds was also a diuretic which flushes out all your potassium.I have been hospitalized no less than 4 times for potassium loss alone. My symptoms are usually extreme dizziness and headache and nausea. It is very serious if too low.It can stop your heart according to my doc.Hope this helps.Call your doctor and ask him to give you something like potassium pills and ask him if any of your meds have a diuretic in them. love Elly I've been on Potassium (prescription) 2x/day for over 4 years already.
