Guest guest
Hi all Its Phil and from England. First of all I hope none of you have been affected by the horrendous fires. We both said this eveningl when watching the news that we hope you are all well and safe. Secondly onto Phil, why does nobody have any answers for us about this disease, every proffesional we ask all seem to say the same thing, " well its all new to us and we are all learning " what they dont like is when I say that yes its all new and yes we are all learning but whilst they are experimenting with various balances of drugs its Phil that is constant pain. They finally offered him morphine the other which he is really reluctant to take prefering to have a higher dose of tramadol. He is not having any good daysat the moment, he seems to have been in constant flare for over 3 months, is there ever any let up on it. He was due to go into hospital yesterday to have the steroids intraveniouslly, only to discover his blood pressure was dangerously high. The nurse (apparently a caring person) said to him is it any wonder his blood pressure is so high when he is morbidly obese. God I wish I had gone with him. How dare she, did she not read his notes and know that the high dose of steroids is on it is no wonder he has gained weight. Likewise the GP we saw last week, said he was over weight and had put on a lot of weight and he should do somethng about it but when asked what he didnt have an answer for us. I have to ask without Phil knowing is it normal this huge weight gain and the high blood pressure. I understand they couldnt do the drip yesterday becasue the medication they would be using would increase the blood pressure and could have killed him if they had gone ahead. Please can somebody tell us what to expect from all of this. We try so hard to be positive and look ahead with hope, but we dont know what to look ahead to or what to hope for. It all seems to b going so fast. His hips are starting to cease up now and make so painful for him to walk sit, stand or sleep. I know you can all proberbly associate with all of this, but WE honestly feel as though we are drowning at the moment because of the lack of knowledge amongst our so called proffesionals. Take care everbody be safe & well & Phil --------------------------------- For ideas on reducing your carbon footprint visit Yahoo! For Good this month.
