Guest guest
All, I'm sure this has been discussed several times over the years, but I'm completely new to this subject and was wondering if anyone could point me in the right direction. Here's a little background. We are currently in S. Korea (will return in Oct '07 to Houston). The doctor diagnosed our 3 year old son with idiopathic scoliosis indicating that he had angles of 23 deg top/20 deg bottom. Not sure what it all means exactly. He advised us that normally patients with these angles would require bracing, but due to our sons age he does not recommend it. Additonally, he stated the the condition was likely to progress and if it gets above 40 deg., we should consider surgery. I am at a complete loss as what to do. I combed the internet and found such hopeful stories and information on the infantilescoliosis.org webiste. I want to know how to get my son some treatment before it progresses to the point where I have no option but surgery. Any help you can provide will be greatly appreciated. Sincerely, Mrs. Bao Vang
