Guest guest
Wow I feel so much, better thanks for shearingI m srue there was a reason for the things said other wise I am sure they would not have be sharedJust one helluva cap to a Great Sunday spent with family and friends I know we all get emotional with our passions I carry my own soap box But I have learned that if I really care about the listener my truth should have just a dash of compassion and even the smallest nuance of hope if my words are going to be a blessing to the hearer.i could be WAY off base I often am if so I ask you to continue to love and support me as you have in the pass.New folks I say to you this is the right place for you to be Deb wrote: Being honest open and about any of our personal fears concerns and what we go through with this disease needs to be honestly addressed shared and discussed in group for our support and the support and knowledge base for others. Non-judgmental - non-abusive - non-self-gratifying alone sharing and support works best for all of us Truth knowledge and support of the masses is power and our best form of support defense offense and ways to survive and survive well with our HCV. Yes gang HCV tx meds are interferon based chemo and if ribavirin the pills added is the antiviral agent and killer med and both are very toxic targeting the pt not the Hep C virus itself and very powerful meds. But our only tx we have at this time take it or leave it. If Chronic HCV has progressed to late and ESLD it is because we ere dx'ed late with HCV and liver disease or were non-responders to tx meds and in need of a life saving liver transplant to prolong our lives. A liver transplant is Not a cure for Chronic HCV which returns again for the majority in a new more meaner faster progressing version very shortly after transplant. TX meds on the market now are not designed for post transplant pt's on anti-rejection meds lowering our immune systems that the tx meds uses to work and work well. HCV post transplant pt's are the forgotten ones with very little research and medical funding for our long term survivals at this time. Many of us were and still are abusers and addicted to drugs and alcohol is also a toxic depressive drug. Which came 1st the chicken or the egg - liver disease and stages from abuse or our HCV ???? Add HCV to the abusive mix and or stopped and with liver damages already done and it is much worse and at an advanced faster progressive rate of HCV and liver disease stage and grade. The good news HCV is now being tested for and dx'ed in earlier stages tx made available and the % of pt's dx'ed and tx'ed in earlier stages researching ESLD is lower. But the HCV Epidemic is still left unchecked with many in the general public not aware of the disease and a high % still walking around with it and for the future. The next wave and generation of the HCV population is Now - You Are It - with many now with it for many years and decades and very unfortunately some reaching late and ESLD. The ugly truth is last month we lost 2 of our own very loved members to HCV ESLD in 2 days. Am I an Alarmist - Nope a Realist that has been there through all the stages of HCV and liver diseae and back again to tell you about it all. Wake up people you have HCV in all stages !!!!!!!!!! Now do something and all you can do about it for you and for others. Now let's see some HCV sharing and support in group !!!!!!!!! Deb - only 53 New Orleans Failed responder to tx meds x's 2 Clean transplant 3-4-01 Now with faster progressing Chronic HCV geno 1a for 31 years Not allowed for medical reasons tx on the market again Not a good medical candidate for a 2nd liver transplant Fussy? Opinionated? Impossible to please? Perfect. Join Yahoo!'s user panel and lay it on us.
