Hi Dan!

This must be in different feds. It's pretty well accepted on most sites

and literature that Kaz was the man. But this could very well be

exclusively referring to the IPF.

The curls are official lifts. They certainly weren't strict, actually a

lot of sites that list the feat say " cheat curl " . My poster lists this

being acheived in 1985.

It was my understanding that Kaz kicked up the dumbell with his thigh before

pressing it overhead while Mark Henry cleaned it from the ground to the

shoulders with no assistance.

Hi Bill!

While Pat Casey did a lot of upper body work he was also the first man

to officially squat over 800# and total over 2000# back in the late

'60's. I believe his best deadlift was around 680#. This was pre-IPF

days when the AAU ran powerlifting.

Jon Cole was an exceptional athlete an lifter. He was national champ

in the discus and powerlifting. He also had best olympic lifts of

430# press, 340# snatch, and 430# C & J. His best powerlifts were done

at a bodyweight of 283#. He was the first man to squat over 900#

(901#), bench press of 580#, and deadlift of 885# all done in the same

meet. However the most impressive feat attributed to Cole was a

softbll throw of 425' on the fly. Some arm.

Best wishes!

Another poster stated:

" His combined Olympic and Power totals are better than Shane Hammans

and he bested currentl WSM champ Svend Karlsson in a strong man

contest at the Arnold Classic last February. Bill Kazmeier lifted the

Inch... "

Henry did win the competition at the Arnold, but two things to remember.

First, his opponents had recently finished a competition and had not had

time to recover. Secondly, the contest was designed specifically around

Mark Henry. Events were chosen that would favor him. It was not " fixed "

but the intent of the planners was for Henry to do " well " .
