Anyone know if I can purchase Kaufman in the UK?

can say all of his sounds now including th, sh, but still struggling to put

whole words together although better with a sign prompt so I kind of like the

look of the Kaufman sign and say cards, then again ASL isn't signalong but I can

probably substitute. It will probably be expensive which is why I am looking for

reasonable priced toys as motivators for his independent play and mands.

He can now point to himself and say " Shaw " and I am " mum " instead of Pat,

hurray.

Anyone else combined VB with Kaufman?

Vicky - we saw lots of these products at Risca's workshop, they have just launched new ones too and they looked great.  Contact Risca as she will tell you where best place to purchase from, some of the stuff was from EG Trainings web site so you might find them there.  Marina xx

Hi VickyI think this is the only place in the UK you can buy Kaufman and no they aren't cheaphttp://www.childreach.co.uk/speech--language-30-c.aspWe use Kaufman Kit 1 and 2 and really like them. The Kits work on speech production, mainly practising and repeating sounds and you can choose which sounds you want to work on. The Sign & Say kits uses pictures (instead of drawings) and uses common objects so it helps with language too. They both use word approximations - trying to say words using whatever sounds that the child has in order to get functional language. To: Autism-Biomedical-Europe From: jane_hogan@...Date: Tue, 9 Nov 2010 09:11:41 +0000Subject: Re: Kaufman

We used Kaufman products with success. I initially attended one of her

seminars in Manchester. We sent a couple of dvd's across and had

follow up phone consults with her. We saw good results in terms of

articulation - could articulate really well sat at a table. He

still finds articulation difficult when using spontaneous language. I

ordered kits one and two direct from Kaufman's center.
