Guest guest
O my ! I am so happy to hear this. You can stop holding your breath for a while. Truly truly happy for you all. I know there are other heavy loads you still carry so this news is all the sweeter. Way way pleased dear Jen!!! Hugs Jay -- Fantastic news about Kirsten Kirsten was diagnosed with cancer in 2004 (sure seems like a long time ago!). Today we had our 5 year check-up, and she is officially " cured " ...she now has only the same chance of getting cancer as anyone else does...apparently 5 years resets you back to zero. We're also now down to once a year checkups with a follow-up clinic which will monitor her for long-term complications of her chemo treatments, but that means one ultrasound/pulmonary test a year, and that's it- no more trudging around Southern Ontario 4 times a year for a battery of tests (and after 6 hours on a bus today, that's a very, very good thing). I wasn't expecting any bad news, but I also didn't realize that we were already at the five year point, so to say that this was an unexpected happy surprise is an understatement. I've gone through a lot of bad luck in my life (a lot of it self-inflicted!), but I've always said that us finding out that she was going to be okay was enough good luck for my lifetime, and that's more true than ever tonight. Just wanted to share :-) I can never thank everyone enough for everything that they've done for us. Jeanette
