Guest guest
I would suggest a shot of LA 200 at the full recommended dosage. I do not routinely use any commercial medication, but when it comes to something like this, I do not hesitate to treat ASAP. Also check the swollen area for impacted hay or feed inside the gum line. There is a name for this and the swelling may burst and be very messy, but it will heal up and the calf will be fine. Bill DunlapRoseboro, NCSubject: Please help with injury to calfTo: RawDairy Date: Tuesday, May 19, 2009, 6:52 AM Good morning, Our little 6-wk old calf got her mouth stuck on the hook where her bucket hangs last night. We had to unhook her. There was no blood and she was able to drink water and chew some calf starter. This morning she is still able to drink her milk and eat, but she has a ball of inflammation on the left side of her cheek, about the size of a golf ball. Do you have any recommendations on natural treatments to reduce inflammation? Or your ideas on anti-inflammatories . Thank you so much for your help. Sincerely, Dona
