Guest guest
Ellen - I'm sorry your family is having such a hard time right now! Sometimes when it rains it pours I'm keeping you in my thoughts & prayers. Chris Zovtic wrote: I'm not looking for anything here other than to let you all know I'm facing at the moment. It also may give you a clue as to why I've been " M.I.A. " Let's start with Dad. Most of you know my father has been ill for quite some time with a myriad of physical troubles. Back on Friday he complained of pain and Mom gave him a hydrocodone. Actually three hydrocodones within six hours to be percise. Dad " lost " his brain amid the drugs and just went badly from there. He confused up and down, couldn't make it to the bathroom for anything, couldn't speak but for making sounds over and over again, couldn't eat anything, etc. On the plus side, however, he also didn't smoke for three days. After calling 911 three times on Saturday to pick Dad up off the floor (he weighs about 350 lbs now) Mom and my sister decided to lay him down on an air mattress and just let things go from there. That was the weekend. Come Monday he had trouble breathing so Mom called 911 again and they carted him off to the hospital. OK guys, here it is: Dad has congestive heart failure, pneumonia, cepsis, kidneys at 30%, unable to eat so he has tube up his nose, an IV in both his arms and dementia. There also seems to be more blood flowing to his brain or so we're being told. He'll have an EEG today, we'll know more later (I hope). Let's just add to this, shall we? Cousin Harvey is in the mental ward of the local VA down here in Florida due to a breakdown back in December. His wife won't allow me to see him, I don't know why. Aunt Martha, though she's getting better, is also in the hospital because she was given the wrong medication and became commatose. She's better but not back home yet and her daughter, my cousin, also won't allow visitors. Wait, there's more! One of my dearest friends is in the processes of divorcing her husband and may have to file a harrassment charge against him for constant yelling on the phonecalls he makes to her house. The kids were at his house over the weekend and both were injured and not cared for properly. They both have infections now in their feet. Personally, I think that's enough stress. Anyone have anything to add? I'm going outside now for a cigarette. Don't worry, I'm still only 10 of those a day. Take care and be well.
