Guest guest Posted July 15, 2009 Report Share Posted July 15, 2009 KidSpeak, LLC Fall 2009 September 7, 2009 – December 18, 2009 ** Wednesday, November 25 – Friday, November 27 off for the Thanksgiving** Mommy and Me Group (ages 18 months – 2 years) Friday 9:00 – 10:00 (ages 2 years – 3 years) Friday 10:00 – 11:00 This program is designed for children that are preverbal or limited within their verbal expressions. This group includes the children, speech therapist and mommies/daddies/caregivers. The goal for this program is to create language routines between the child and their caregivers that can be utilized within numerous environments that foster social communication, emotional regulation, verbal expression, comprehension and relationship building. Spaces are limited to 4 Caregiver/Child pairs. The ratio for this group will be 1 Speech Pathologist to 2 to 4 Caregiver/Child pair. **This program does not require your child to participate within weekly individual therapy sessions; however, it is recommended.** (14 sessions) The ARTS Group (ages 3 – 5) Friday 9:30 – 11:30 This program is designed for children who are delayed in their language skills (expressively and/or receptively) and who love the ARTS: cooking, art, music, dance, exercising, movement and more. Together we will be exploring language through each ART area every week. Each week we will participate within a cooking activity, art activity, learn a new song and dance and more. We are sorry but if your child is on any type of special diet or has food allergies, this is not the group for your child because we will be cooking with a variety of foods each week. This group has a classroom ratio of 1 Speech Pathologist to 2 to 3 kids. **These children do have to participate within at least one weekly individual session.** (14 sessions) Lunch Bunch (ages 3 - 5) Friday 11:30 – 12:15 During Lunch Bunch, children will work on appropriate lunch time behavior as well as responding and initiating to comments by their peers, the ability to discuss past and future events, discuss what they like/don’t like, etc. This group has a classroom ratio of 1 Speech Pathologist to 2 to 3 kids. **These children do have to participate within at least one weekly individual session.** (14 sessions) Language and Literacy (ages 3 – 5) Friday 1:00 – 2:30 This program is designed for children who are delayed in their language skills (expressively and/or receptively), delayed in their articulation skills as well as delayed in their literacy skills. This group will include a variety of fun activities including music, centers and art in order to make language and literacy fun! This group has a classroom ratio of 1 Speech Pathologist to 2 to 3 kids. **These children do not have to participate within a weekly individual session; however, it is recommended.** (14 sessions) Preschool Group II (ages 3 – 6) Monday/Wednesday 9:30 – 12:00 This group is designed for children who are already familiar with the classroom and social rules of preschool. These children use and understand a higher level of language than both the Toddler and Preschool I Group. This group is focused on increasing language (use and understanding), increasing socialization skills and introduces early pre-literacy skills. This group has a classroom ratio of 1 Speech Pathologist to 2 to 3 kids. **These children do have to participate within at least one weekly session; however, two weekly sessions are recommended.** (29 sessions) Speak and Play Group (ages 2 ½ – 4 ½) Monday/Wednesday 9:30 – 11:30 This group is designed for children who have difficulty producing their sounds including (but not limited to): “p, b, m, n, s, t, d, k, gâ€. These children will participate within weekly classroom curriculum focusing on sounds and syllables as a group as well as individually within structured group time, structured play time, unstructured play time and lunch time. This group has a classroom ratio of 1 Speech Pathologist to 4 kids. **These children do not have to participate within a weekly session; however, it is recommended.** (29 sessions) Preschool Group I (ages 2 ½ – 4) Tuesday/Thursday 9:00 – 11:00 This group is designed for children who are already familiar with the classroom and social rules of preschool. These children use and understand a higher level of language than the Toddler Group. This group is focused on increasing language (use and understanding) as well as increasing socialization skills. This group has a classroom ratio of 1 Speech Pathologist to 2 to 3 kids. **These children do have to participate within at least one weekly session; however, two weekly sessions are recommended.** (29 sessions) Just Play Group (ages 3 – 6) Tuesday/Thursday 9:00 – 11:00This group is less structured than our Preschool Groups and focuses on increasing language (use and understanding) and socialization with peers through play (such as: Center Time, art, music, etc.). This group has a classroom ratio of 1 Speech Pathologist to 3 to 4 kids. **These children do have to participate within at least one weekly session; however, two weekly sessions are recommended.** (29 sessions) Preschool Group III (ages 4 - 6) Tuesday/Thursday 1:00 – 4:00 This group is designed for children who are already familiar with the classroom and social rules of preschool. These children use and understand a higher level of language than both Preschool I and Preschool II Groups. This group is focused on increasing language (use and understanding), increasing higher level socialization skills, increasing pre-literacy skills and introduces early math skills. This group has a classroom ratio of 1 Speech Pathologist to 3 to 4 kids. **These children do have to participate within at least one weekly session; however, two weekly sessions are recommended.** (29 sessions) Social Skills Group (ages 5 – 7) Wednesday 5:00 – 6:00 This group focusing on building and sustaining relationships by increasing socialization skills as well as language within socialization (such as: completing projects together, playing board/social games, working on conversational skills, writing in journals, etc.). This group has a classroom ratio of 1 Speech Pathologist to 3 kids. **These children do have to participate within at least one weekly session.** (14 sessions) Parent/Caregiver Training Program This program consists of 4 one hour training sessions for parents, siblings and caregivers. Parents will meet with their KidSpeak, LLC therapist once a month at your home. During this one hour monthly session, your KidSpeak, LLC therapist will show you a variety activities that you can do with your child with their transactional supports, watch you participate within activities with your child and then discuss new ideas. At your monthly meeting you will create goals, discuss how to meet these goals and make any adjustments. **Your child must participate within a weekly individual session to participate within this program.** (additional travel expenses if more than 15 miles from the office) All groups focus on the individualized social communication as well as socialization needs of each child. There is a $30 registration fee for each group (plus the tuition payment). Registration is due by Monday, August 24, 2008.
