I think that produce tends to have no taste when it comes from what Pollan calls the "industrial organic complex", in other words, huge, industrial-scale organic farms. When it comes from small, local farms, it tends to be much tastier, because it is farmed differently, plus it can be grown to ripeness instead of picked before it's ripe for cross-country transport. -Margaret > > Now that you mention it..
