Initially, we will be offering the two most important assays; aerobic plate counts and fungal/yeast plate counts at a cost of $18.00 each (other labs charge from $20-$40) or $30.00 for both tests together. Discounts can be given with volume. The procedure will follow the guidelines of the US Food & Drug Administration (FDA) for microbiological methods for cosmetics. After sending me a small sample of your cosmetic product, I will analyze it for bacterial or fungal contamination (or both), then report back to you (either by email or by USPS) the number of viable organisms found. Making cosmetics carries with it the responsibility of assuring a safe product, free of bacterial contamination. Let your clients know that your cosmetics and personal care products are safe by having them assayed for bacterial and fungal counts. A particularly useful way to use this service is to determine bacterial and fungal counts immediately after making the product and again several months later to determine shelf life.
