Guest guest
Hi ya'll. No ambulance this time actually. Cheryl ( " your wifey " as our son refers to her in sign language) drove me to the docs and was allowed to drive me the additional 2 blocks to the resort for a direct admit. A real sucky week. (literally by the way) Last Friday had the lungs sucked out and then again yesterday, a week later. This time no infection so nothing showed in the xrays. Seems that uninfected mucous does not show up. Lucky me, no infection, just couldn't breathe well. This last time both lower lobes were " packed with ultra thick mucous " . According to my doc it kept coming and coming. But what an amazing difference when I woke up. Breathing is definitely an under rated experience. Had been on 80mg solumedrol IV X4 to get asthma under control while in the resort. I came home this morning on 60mg pred per day, albuterol nebulizer X4, inhaled steroids X2 and 2 other broncodilators. Very strange, treatment had been going slowly but ok after the first bronc, then started tapering the pred, got to 50mg and then downhill. Good news is that that the high dose steroids have been keeping the dragon's usual crap at bay, The bad news is that I am still on high dose steroid and still continuing to get control of the asthma. As my doc noted, each time I get one of these attacks it follows a different pattern. Anyway, I bit the bullet and started the short term disability processing at work. Wish me luck, I do have flexability at work so will be able (hopefully) to ease in when the time comes. Meanwhile, I promised my wife to relax and rest and stay out of trouble. Tom from PA ps I know we all hate the resort and hate being there. But, everyone there was great and treated me very well. And the food was even pretty good. It also gave me plenty of opportunities to push our agenda and pass out the web site link to nursing staff. > > Greetings Y'all > > Our Dragon Slayer Uncle Fuzzy (Tom) is in the resort for a few days. His asthma went through the roof. He had to go to the resort in an Ambulance, because his 0/2 levels were down to 82%. So, he needed oxygen enroute. He's on 80mg Prednisone orally plus the medrol IV. > > He managed to get an e-mail out to me before Cheryl took away his super duper, phone, internet, e-mail. Then he called one of his buddies at work using an 800 number, and had him e-mail me his phone number in the resort. .PRETTY SNEAKY considering he supposed to be resting...so I called him and we chatted..well I chatted while he wheezed and coughed ...poor baby..seriously we had a good natter. I'm going to call him at the same time as chat, so, in his words " I can get my 2 cents worth in " ! > > So keep him in your prayers please..... > > To everyone who has had to draw their swords against the vile Dragon, hang in as much as you can, and fight the good fight. > > Smiles and regards > Cat > > May the Dragon miss you and the > Angels find you > > > Looking for the perfect gift?
