Good Afternoon Bill

I see your points and worries being on tx for 2 full years.

Will this be full tx both interferon and ribavirin or a lower or single maintenance tx therapy - tx tailored to you with a wait and see approach ????

Full for 24 months is what I was told by my first "Liver DR" now I am with an exclusive HEP C expert really so he may change the regiment

We like to discuss it all here for our own support and the support and education of others. It's an ongoing learning process for us all.It is wonderful you have a great HCV medical team and specialists have confidence in them and their medical capabilities and training.

I have only seen my new doctor 1 time so I am flying blind that is why I came back here.

I too believe honesty is always the best policy and with my medical care and tx for me to be well informed enough and make the correct choices for me and my life working with and alongside my many Dr's.

It did take a while for my Dr's and medical staff to be completely open and honest with me and after realizing it was in my best interests and I could handle it all. It is very hard on them also. They are only human and are trained to not cause fear or panic to their pt's and always give hope and hope for the future.

He said that we were going to do it together ? When ever that will be.

Being well informed about my medical case and HCV asking many questions calmly and rationally having a honest dialog and wanting a working relationship with them worked well for me.

The lady at the hospital wanted me to ask the questions over the phone actually I think she just wanted me to come in an get my 1st shot no questions asked

I refuesed she is going to see me but she does not like to do that . It may just end up I punch her in the nose that would not be the first time for me.

Many pt's don't realize with confrontations we are viewed as uncooperative pt's and not acting in our best and medical interests.

I have other choices when I was in traction for 8 months that got me down this road .They woke me up to check me during the night and I asked they stop they said it was hospital policy so I called the hospital admistrator at 3am and woke his ass up and gave him the idea what it feels like and they changed their policy(--:

I might just get back on that high horse if I don't get what I want.

Regards

Bill

I

think your new liver doc might take a more traditional approach rather than

promising 2 years up front. Standard protocol for genotype 1 is 48 weeks, with

possible revisions depending on how quickly your viral load drops.

I

LOVE your attitude, Bill. Make them answer your questions & make them

understand you are a team. When you talked about waking up the admin, I

laughed like hell! It reminded me of our dear old friend Allan, kicking ass

& taking names!
