Hi Just for clarity sake,

when you say superfat, are you refering to a lye discount or in additon to a lye

discount.

I superfat at about 5 to 6 % in all of my soaps. Most lye heavy soaps are

not so lye heavy that the extra fat would not take up the lye. Your end

soap if done at 6% would be about 5 or a little less.

I am referring to the lye discount. I never superfat at trace. This is

another place to create problems. Most experienced soapers can do this but

beginners have trouble. It is something that comes with experience. If you

have a balanced bar of soap you do not need to add oils at trace.
