Hi everyone,

I just wanted to ask that you pray for me tomorrow. I am doing a presentation

on life with Adult Still's and Service Dogs to 4th Graders at a local elementary

school. I begin with talking about disabilities in general then I go into What

is Adult Still's Disease. I have modified the Spoon Theory into a group activity

to demonstrate a little bit of why living with Still's is so difficult. I then

talk about the different types of service dogs. Which leads into a demonstration

of the different things Coco (my service dog) helps me do. Then I talk about

what the Children should do if they see a service dog in public. I have a

handout that I give them and I ask them to take it home and share with their

family. (you wouldn't believ how many adults come up and start petting a Coco

WITHOUT permission). Then I take questions. At the very end if there is time I

allow them to greet Coco.

This is my 2nd presentation. I am hoping that this will lead into more

presentations, and more publicity about Still's Disease and Service Dogs. I am

asking for prayer mostly because after several months without a fever I woke up

this morning with a fever, and was very achy.

Thanks Everybody!

Best of luck to you ! You will be in my prayers. Relax, try to enjoy,

and know what a good thing you're doing. I'll bet the fever was caused by the

stress of this....ahhh just something else we have to deal with. You're

obviously a trooper..so go get 'em girl!

so awesome that you have the time and ability to speak publicly.

Let us know how things go for you. Can't wait to hear.

Awesome you are doing presentations! That is just wonderful. I

hope you are feeling up to it today.

Knowing that you have a service dog, would it be possible for you to

share some links on assitance dogs for the disabled? Programs

available, but also maybe some places we can look to train our dogs

on doing a few assistanting items with us. I personally would not

qualify for an A-dog from an organization, but my dog is incredibly

smart and for my needs, he's totally trainable. I would love to

know training organizations who either have materials so i can home

train or can direct me to trainers in my area that might be able to

help. My dog would just LOVE training more and helping me out, he's

a working dog that just loves to please.

Again, thank you for volunteering and educating our children. I

think that's a wonderful thing to do. When we teach them young,

they are not as prejudiced as they get older. My little cousins

have been exposed to nursing homes and older, disabled people all

their lives and it's just no big deal to them to hang out with my

friend who is in a wheelchair and for them to help me when I am not

well. They accept that some people are not as quick or abled as

them and it's not a prejudice for them at all.
