Guest guest
Well, I finally got around to reading this Magazine that I bought on Vacation! This is a really good article about the author, Pamela Weintraub's family who all contracted Lymes disease while living in Westchester County, NY. Ms Weintraub is also the Senior Ed. at Discover Magazine I loved the comment from the Psychiatrist Sherry Holland--from Pennsylvania -- stating the worst thing a DR can tell a patient with Lyme's is its all in your head! Many commit suicide when told this -- with no hope or help insight. DR Holland gets a referral at least once a week for a patient who has Lymes disease -in Bucks county because they are having Panic Attacks, hallucinations, obsessive - compulsive disorder, and depression. They are in agony, not only neuropsychiatiatric pain but physical pain as well. Many times thought to be just hypochondriac's. Many DR's fall to notice the patient has encephalographic but Physicians who wouldn't know a case of encephalographic if they fell over it. They are physically sick, but are blamed by doctors who say: You belong to a " cult " if you think you have " Lyme " or you look okay to me. The symptoms sound a lot like some symptoms autistic children could have. **************Vote for your city's best dining and nightlife. City's Best 2008.
