Guest guest
Hello, I have recently joined this list, any help would be appreciated. I recently found what I believe to be a mold problem at my apartment. I discovered the AC system filter was clogged, and behind it the metal thing with fins (evaporator?) was visibly wet and slimy, and just in general looked fairly nasty (I have some pics if that will help). I took a Q-tip sample and applied to culture dish of home test kit, after several days there was very visible and large separate growth of black, green, white, and some other stuff. I have lived at this place for about 2 years now, and had ongoing health problems for about the last 1.5 years. My symptoms are primarily gastrointestinal in nature, also " brain fog " , fatigue, dizziness. Strange skin rashes, strange pains and headaches. Both my normal doc and my gastro doc don't seem to think my symptoms are related to mold and are not willing or able to test/treat me in that direction. Just based on what I have learned recently online, I believe it has to be related. I have already left the apartment and staying at what I think is a safe clean house. I would like to find a doctor who is competent in mold-health issues and would be willing/able to test/treat me for possible mold toxins. Does anyone know a doctor like this in the DFW, Texas area, or how I could look one up? I am not sure what else I should be doing at this point. When I told the apartment they just replaced the filter and said there was no other problem. Should I try to find a mold inspector to check the apartment out in person, and what is the time/cost involved in that process? Do I need an attorney? I have spoken to one attorney and they did not seem to believe my health problems could be linked to the mold exposure. Thank you all for your help, Thanks, Chris
