It if spreads, it can lead to health problems especially in people with allergies or asthma. The health department says the most important thing to do is to remove all moisture from the basement, including any porous material that got wet like drywall, rugs, and paper. Once dry, areas of mold growth should be scrubbed with a detergent solution. Bleach solution is only necessary in areas that remain damp and should be used with adequate ventilation as it can damage your lungs.
