Guest guest
Cat's aren't for everyone. My mouse trap out killed the mice on our weekend test 29 to 4.Plus the cats randomly kill the birds that I feed at the feeder. The mousetrap takes no input except 1 tsp. of peanut butter that the mice never get to eat. And no cat litter needed.

Guest guest
I actually think cats are better for maintenance usage. I have done the trap game, and have to go back and repeat too often. Once we got the cats, they have maintaining the population to not bother us. I have had no problem w/ them eating birds, probably because we have ducks and chickens, and the old cat was trained not too, and they follow her lead. Since they are outside, there is no litter issue. And they get the mice BEFORE they get into the house. www.Majesty Farm.com " Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world. Guest guest
Please check with your neighbors before you make the decision to acquire outdoor cats. They can't be taught boundaries and " your " cats will surely become " their " cats, as well. Our neighbors wonderful mousers routinely get in the barn and pee right on the tractor seat... as well as other places, and they stalk the birds we work so hard to attract to our wetlands. Now in addition to our mouse traps, we have to buy cat traps... and neighborly relations are getting quite strained. Not-loving-the-cats! Guest guest
Well said ! Plus no one seems to understand that in some areas all they are doing is drawing in Coyotes. Every cat that gets dropped off here becomes a meal for a pack of coyotes or dogs. They are nothing more than bait.

Guest guest
Being more in a rural situation cats make sense for me, though I can see where urban or suburban could create issues. Also, I think it is particularly important to have toms neutered to minimize roaming. Guest guest
If you have coyotes you don't need cats to attract them closer. They will come eventually. Cats work well here too but we are 1/2 mile from our nearest neighbour. We also castrate toms which I am sure helps. Our Maremma keeps the coyotes away now.
