Hey ya'll :)

Happy ~*~ 2001 ~*~

The last time I wrote to this list, (10) was gaining alot of

weight on Risperdal. He had been on this med from July to December.

We took him off and put him on Seroquil (sp?) on Dec 15. Well.

(LOL) -- He broke out in a horrible rash all over his body on Sat

and Sunday (this past weekend). Naturally, he was going to die a

slow and painful death!!! :) I've stopped giving it to him, called

the pharmacy (they said, 'stop giving it to him' which I

responded, " um... I already have. " ) Then, I called his doctor, who

said, " Stop giving it to him. " I said, " Yeah. I said I already DID

stop giving it to him! " :) (Geez, I think parents of kids w/ OCD

know too much for our own good!)

Anyway, I'd be interested if anyone's child out there ever developed

an itchy rash on Seroquil. And, I wonder what's in this stuff that

would cause an allergic reaction in ? He's NEVER had an

allergic reaction to ANYTHING. This was a first.

Of course NOW... is only on his Luvox, and nothing for the mood

disorder. I told hubby--- " brace yourself, we may be in for a bumpy

ride! " To refresh everyone's memory, threw a knife at me over

the summer (because I asked him if he wanted to go to the pool, shame

on me!) :) That's when he was diagnosed w/ a possible mood

disorder.

And wouldn't ya know, school resumes tomorrow after a 2 week Xmas

break. This is exactly what I was hoping would NOT happen when he

went back to school, but OCD has an agenda of it's own.

With fingers crossed and knocking on wood (and hiding all the knives

in the kitchen!!) :)
