Guest guest
Ants can be killed quite effectively with food grade DE. If you know where they are coming in, wipe the trail with comet or something to remove the scent.-Jenn Be a better friend, newshound, and know-it-all with Yahoo! Mobile. Try it now. Guest guest
I use borax (boric acid) sprinkled pretty much wherever they tend to congregate. However, it should not be used where pets might lick it up; in cracks, along the baseboards, etc is good. Also, washing cabinets, counters, etc. with vinegar helps keep them away. Guest guest
To get rid of ants, use diatamatious (sp?) earth. Spread on them or on their trail. That usually works good but there is another option. Find their hill and put out a pile (aprox 1/8 to 1/4 cup) of grits next to or a round the hill OR if you cant find their hill, spread some grits along their trail, wait for 3-4 days and then water the area with a sprinkler for about 10 minutes. The grain eaten by the ants will swell internally when they get water and kill them.
