Kirk/,

Is there heated pools at the Gyms in your area? Around here one can get

a " pool only membership " to a Gym with a heated pool fairly cheap.

We were really blessed and whoever owned our home five years ago had a

heated pool put in. We haven't opened it yet or turned on the heater

because we are waiting for our home in Seattle to sell - it has our finances

very tight. We WIll open it in the summer for sure and we are hoping to

cover the pool when our other home sells and heat the pool in the winter (if

we can afford it) I don't have a clue as to what it will cost, but I have

such low energy levels, not having to go out will help me out a lot. We'll

just have to see what happens. We may have to wait a bit to follow our

dream and cover it, but we'll be patient.

Last year, I went on a trip with 5 of my girl friends (all whom have chronic

illnesses, none of them have stills though). They could all handle the

cooler water way better than I could. It froze me to the bones in a minute.

I tend to run a temp every afternoon and night, even though they tend to be

mostly low grade now (and sometimes up to 102), my normal temp is 97, so my

body doesn't handle cold water at all. They handled it like nothing. I

couldn't figure out what was wrong with me...

Take care,

We have a pool at our apartment complex but they don't heat it. Fortunately

I'm in Florida, but I hate that I cannot swim during November thru April when

it's so warm. I don't understand how the water can stay so cool.

One of my best friends in Wisconsin had a pool for years and was always able

to swim much longer than most because she had a thermal cover for her pool -

it takes the sun and heats the water. The cover was expensive (although I

don't have a clue as to how much) but it really heated the pool once that

expense was paid for. Just an idea. I'd buy it for the apartment pool but I'd

be

afraid that other tenants would be angry as I need the water warmer than most

and it might interfere with their swimming.

Kirk,

Our local university has a program where non-students can buy a pass to

the heated pool. I don't swim - so I can't say how warm it is. But I hear it is

cheap, like $20.00 year.

I wish you luck in finding some relief. I know you need it.

couple of degrees above ambient. It is by far the coldest indoor pool I've

ever been in. The High Schools all have heated pools, but I don't think they

take 37 year old students these days...especially with the no child left

behind joke!

I know that there are some hotels/motels with heated pools that will let you

pay to use their pool/gym facilities. I did that once years ago. Maybe there

are some in your area. I don't think it was real expensive at the time -

although I had money then. And they generally heat the pools more than a school

or gym would.

I also belonged to the local college's health club years ago as well (I used

to be a jockette of sorts) and while I was an alumni there, my roommate

wasn't and she was also able to join for a few dollars more.

Good luck.

Well, in a sense...I have one already...I just have a hard time getting

out of it most of the time! A few years prior to getting whacked, my wife &

I despised our tub so bad that I was going to torch it in place. My shoulder

with is right around 28 " ....the tub was 22 " if that. I used to have to " V "

my back & chest to take a bath, plus it was a very short tub, maybe

50 " ...and I'm 5'6 1/2 " ....my poor wife who loves baths is 5'11 " ! So we

decided to have a new tub installed by a friend of mine who is a contractor,

and the price difference to a Jacuzzi type tub wasn't much at all, so that's

what we have. It helps me greatly when I can't move, but than I can't get

out! When I feel " movable " I'd prefer a shower to a bath any day.....so I

don't benefit all that much from it, though I loved it a lot before I got

sick.

As far as insurance goes.....I know how to make it affordable. Mandate

the CEO max salary & benefit package to the median income of all of the

customers. Than you can allow them a bonus up to 1/2 of the median salary if

the company is profitable that year. These M***** ******* are making million

per year and get HUGE severance packages for doing little more than playing

golf! I could see someone being rewarded for starting a unique, successful

company, but everyone needs health care. Where the hell else is one going to

get it. One word sums up most of this countries problem....GREED!

Have a good one, Kirk.
