Dear Viki, I was scared to death about mtx when I first went on for the very same reasons. I called my nephew and cousin, both doctors. I have a good relationship with my nephew, but my cousin and I barely know one another but I knew I needed reassurance. Both told me to not worry, the benefits far outweighed the side effects. They also both told me that there are many drugs out there that were intended for one disease and found to work really well on another. That took away a lot of my fears. Good luck.
