Irish Medicines Board Extends Paracetamol Recall To All Batches

All batches of the paracetamol tablet Paratabs 500mg are being

recalled by the Irish Medicines Board due to fears of contamination

which is most likely to be mould. This applies to all tablets

dispensed since August 29.

As people could not have purchased the product without a

prescription , they are being asked to return any unused tablets to

their pharmacy and not to consume anymore Paratabs, while pharmacies

have to quarantine their unsold stocks.

Last month, the Board had recalled a batch of the pills , but has

now decided to include all batches in the withdrawal due to

contamination. The blister packs have not been affected.
