My name is and I am very pleased to find out about this raw dairy group. I live in Wetumpka, AL. My e-mail is karenrusso@....

I am a houswife and mother of 6 children. A few years ago we found out how bad the store milk is because of the pasteurization and homogenization, plus hormones and antibiotics. So, we found a local source of raw milk and went to the dairy weekly for fresh milk. But then the dairy closed down and there have been no other sources that we know of in our state of AL. So, our raw milk co-op group members take turns traveling 300 miles roundtrip to buy milk in GA. Thankfully, the milk is so fresh that it keeps for about a month and so we only have to make this trip once per month.

I think it is sad that people in this country can purchase all sorts of UNhealthy things like cigarettes, alcohol, chemical cleaners, etc., but we can't get fresh milk from a cow or goat. How crazy is that?

I am looking forward to being a part of this group and learning even more about the benefits of raw milk. Mid kids hate store bought milk (which is an extreme rarity at our house now), and they always look forward to the fresh milk coming in. Too bad it is so expensive, but it is worth it. I recently learned a little bit about a raw milk fast and I am interested in the details about that.
