Guest guest Posted June 7, 2010 Report Share Posted June 7, 2010 In our experience, this is a sign of low level chronic mastitis that is very difficult to get rid of. We purchased two different cows in the past who were pregnant when we bought them and after freshening had salty milk. The CMT showed very mild mastitis on both of them, but despite different treatments, we were never able to get rid of the salty taste.
