Well, after be angry through the weekend, I stayed home an hour on Monday to

call the school and found out that Assistant principal would not be in for

another hour. So I sent to school. When I finally spoke to him he

told me that the alleged incident occurred either Tuesday morning, Tuesday

afternoon or Wednesday morning on the school grounds immediately before or

after the bus trip. Apparently a mother had complained. I was warned that

another incident could mean suspension from the bus. then spoke to

Mr Pedron and got another series of possible sequences of events, none of

which made sense to him and he was unable to even find out who is accuser

was. By this point I was really frustrated but on Tuesday I received a

lengthy letter from the Assistant Principal telling me that due to much

miscommunication no formal incident report was ever filed so the matter has

been dropped and he apologized for the anxiety caused. I just shake my

head. The interesting thing is that over the weekend I did find out some

very discouraging things about how little formal protection exists for

special needs kids under the provincial government's policies (in fact a

teachers strike is imminent and this is one of the issues). I also found

out that another " coded " (IPP) boy, this time in my daughter's LD class, has

been bullied to the point of bruising and the principal, anxious to present

a shiny image for the school (and her career aspirations) has been unwilling

to deal with it. She did not return our calls to her regarding

either. Enlightening, but not really surprising after all.

Cynically,

ph, in Canada
