Guest guest
On the one hand, we don't want every Walmart selling raw milk imported from China, who knows what the cows were fed and how long the milk has been out of the cow before it got to the consumer. On the other hand, if my neighbor, with whom I go to church, with wants to buy a couple of gallons a week from my Bessie, because he wanta raw, that should be none of the government's business. As long as my customer is satisfied with my protocols for cleanliness, it should be between us. Now the rub comes when I decide to get 2 cows (or 20) and offer MOO -shine to the general public that does not know me. Thats the problem. At what point does my volume require me to hire help and preclude the attention to detail I would give if my family was drinking every quart? Because there are some bad actors who would make a mess with 1 cow and others who would do great with 20, how do we decide? The fault does not line in milk regulations, it lies in personal responsibility and attention to detail. Bill Dunlap Roseboro,NC
