Guest guest
Look on the bright side. There will now be many people looking through the Public Housing, who are being paid, with this grant money, with the job responsibility of reporting back what they see. The residents don't usually report what they see[including mold]because they are afraid of being labeled as " trouble makers " . Many of them are very delinquent in their rent and are afraid that reporting mold might get them evicted. The more people who see mold;the more the public will become aware of our problem. In addition to my toxic mold problem, of 7 years, I have had asthma since the age of 9. I am now 63. Many years ago I got angry at the large amounts of research money being spent on HIV/AIDS, while almost nothing was being spent on asthma research. I thought that it was unfair, for many reasons, considering the large number of asthmatics compared with the relatively few HIV/AIDS patients. Those were the years BEFORE large numbers of third-world people started dying from AIDS. We can learn something from the AIDS experience. Those who scream the loudest, get heard. We can learn something from the Boston Asthma Program also. That program is being funded by a grant from a large corporation. If we ever expect to have money dedicated to help us with OUR problem, it is OUR responsibility to join, or organize, a mold association, which could write and submit grant proposals to large corporations, for the purpose of research and treatment of OUR needs. Does anyone know if such a toxic mold organization already exists? > > I honeslty don't know how this slipped by me. Guest guest
Good Points here Joe. Yes, we need to be loud, we need to be heard. We need to all be united in the efforts of helping our illnesses...be heard....ENOUGH IS ENOUGH...get the stories to ABC, Letitia, and whomever else in the public and private sectors...Silence is not golden with our illnesses. They might as well call us all trouble makers, we are trying to fight you might as well say the world, for recognition, proper treatments, diagnosis, proper medications, proper and accurate testing for our illnesses, trying to make all physicians more aware, knowledgeable and not walking away from us or telling us it is all in our heads.....if it were politicians, medical profession in many areas, etc. that were ill from molds, toxins...they would shut up, they would want results and action. Our doctor's are suppose to be here to treat and recognise their patients needs, give proper diagnosis, do all tests needed to help in the diagnosis and treatment, they dont want to come right out and tell us yes they know what is causing our illnesses because more so than not, they don't want to get involved with mold illnesses and issues so this can be why many of us see many different physicians...we get passed down the line. It is up to us as individuals, and it is our right to stand up for ourselves and when we cant get proper or correct diagnosis, we have to search out the experts in the field and make the appointments. This is why I make my own appointments now, I am not playing games with anyone regarding my health, I push until they get it right. I am not trying to put the medical field down by any means, after all I am a nurse not that that matters...I just believe in seeking out the experts in the field instead of going from physicain to physician that is not an expert with mold, mycotoxins, toxins, fungi, bacteria, yeasts, etc. illnesses.
