Guest guest
Thank God for calm husbands! My husband is usually very calm and has a plan when I'm totally stressed about something. Let us know when you're able to get to Erie. Brayden is 8 mos. old now and was diagnosed last month with a 29 degree curve. We are seeing a doctor here in Portland, OR at Shriners who put Brayden in a brace. I do not think our doctor utilizes the Mehta casting technique so we are in the process of contacting someone in SLC. We are supposed to have x-rays again in a month, so we will see. However, I was told more than once that the brace is ONLY for keeping the curve at 29 degrees-not to expect straightening. This I don't understand. Anyway-I'll be thinking of you and your family and saying a prayer for . It is so hard sometimes. I have my good weeks, months and then we go to an appt. I then start to second guess everything we are doing. Only because we have not had " great " success with 's current doctor. I have tried to get him on board with Ms. Mehta's techniques, but he will not change " his way " . Since we are not getting the correction that I know so many children are I am ready to change doctors. I was so stressed out about going to Erie. My husband gets home, I tell him everything and he says well I guess we will take a Fall vacation. He just doesn't stress. Thank God! I can't remember Brayden's age or curve info. Where do you go for treatment now? Is he in a cast or brace currently? Keep us posted. This is a lot of stress you are under right now but remember to just take one day at a time. You are doing the right thing and is blessed to have your for his mother. We are our babies' only advocates and we're doing the best for our children by seeking the treatment that works and always questioning what's happening with our babies. I will pray for you. We will all look back on this one day and realize what we accomplished for our beautiful children and maybe others will not have to go through this because of our efforts.
