Guest guest
Hi group, Haven't been on for a while. My daughter, Belle (9), is doing very well on her 75mg of Zoloft. Very few symptoms remain. BUT, she has been gaining weight. She was a petite, little thing, now she's not fat, but getting plumb. The Doc says that it's a side effect of Zoloft. Any experience with this? Will it stop, recede? Thanks
Guest guest
Topomax in the medication that has been successfully prescribed to some list members, but as I recall it was for older ones and adults. I do not know what the age is for adminstration of this medication, so it is best to ask the Dr. in Southeastern PA Tmmy1212@... wrote: My son also on Zoloft. My son was just at the family doctor and they are concerned about this weight gain. I have noticed it in my son and plan to go for walks when whether is warmer (I can't stand the cold). I don't know if it will stop. I remember people on the list mentioning something to help keep the weight under control. I would be interested in suggestions from the list on this. I am going to bring this up to the doctor when we go back. Tammy
Guest guest
Hi , this is personal experience only: Each time Kel (8) started an SSRI (with the exception of Prozac), she put on 5-6 pounds pretty quickly and got pudgy...belly, full face, etc. But for her, that was it, and over time she gradually lost it (usually helped along by a case of the flu or whatever that caused her to not eat much for 2-3 days), or grew into the extra weight. I have no idea whether this is typical experience or not. FWIW. Kathy R. in Indiana ----- Original Message ----- From: buytick Haven't been on for a while.
