Dear ,

It sounds like you are suffering from disfunctional liver. I have

had a

similar experience to this and found that I was becoming allergic (intolerant)

to more and

more foods, metals and medicines.

I doubt if you could get cirrhosis of the liver from elevated bilirubin, that

just means

that the bilirubin is not getting to where it needs to be, because of blockages

and

thickened bile.

I really recommend Dr. Cabot's site, it really is very informative.

www.liverdoctor.com

Good luck,

Jane.

Hello....... I am 26 years old and have very bad allergies...... Inhalants and

food

allergies...... I'm practically allergic to all foods.... And i have bad

shoulder pain

and low back pain.... (these 2 things struck me when i read about your liver

cleanse)

ALSO, I was just told by my doctor that I have a elevated bilirubin factor....

The total

value and the indirect value were elevated.... We tested it twice.... Now i'm

worried as

heck because a few days ago i went to get tested for hepatitis and all this

stuff that I

highly would doubt that i would have.... I have to wait till atleast tuesday for

the blood

results..... I have a question here....... I've been having a hard time

sleeping because

of all of this..... Is it possible to have Cirrhosis of the liver with just a

elevated

bilirubin? And would that be rare? All the other tests seemed to be ok.....

Any

information would really be appreciated....

I also feel like taking this liver cleanse that is recommended on this site -

http://curezone.com/cleanse/liver/huldas_recipe.html....

thanks

The most dramatic and immediate response I got from the flush was in regards

to my food allergies.

I think the cause of this sort of thing is a combination of 1) defective

elimination channels, e.g., dysfunctional liver, and 2) toxic

overload/builtup in the body. If you can get your liver cleaned out, it can

start eliminating some of the buildup.

,

If you mean the " water cure, " here are my results after about 15 days so far:

Weight down from 242 to 226 as of this morning;

Blood pressure down from an average of 149/96 to an average of 134/88;

Urinary stream went from daily dribbles (swollen prostate) to peeing like a

16-year old again (I'm 47);

Also, due to chronic fatigue syndrome, I used to have to take energy-boosting

supplements (such as Ribose, ATP, NADH, Androstenedione, DHEA, pregnenolone,

etc.) each day just to get through a typical

workday. Today, I am supplement free, and have more energy than I've ever had.

For me, the " water cure " works! In 15 years of trying different supplements

and alternative medical treatments, nothing has worked as well for me as has

drinking half my body weight in ounces of water

and taking the extra sea salt, as described on the water cure web site.

BTW, I would be remiss in failing to point out that because of the gallstone

attacks -- which are what brought me to this group in the first place about

three weeks ago -- I have also had to alter my diet

dramatically, cutting out all fatty foods and sugared snacks. That alone could

account for much of my success with the weight loss, but my past experience with

similar diets did not result in this type of

weight loss -- not even close. Plus, it was not until I started taking the

water and sea salt that my blood pressure began dropping, my natural energy

levels returned and my prostate problems were

relieved so dramatically.

Regards,

Steve B.

Welcome, Stefanie!

I saw your post and thought to myself " I thought that was Stefanie's e-mail

I am a chapter leader for KY, but I am in N Ky, and don't know much as far as

sources in S KY. However, Christy Karrow is the other chapter leader in KY, and

she lives in S KY, so she may be able to help you out on finding some sources

for stuff closer to you. You can contact her at (270) 864-4167, or

I also thought I'd let you know about a sister list I started recently at

LDS-BuildingHealthyFamilies . It's for the same

things we discuss here, but with an LDS slant - discussing the WoW and how it

fits into NT, etc. Come on over if you get the urge.

Anyway, welcome again! It's good to see you here. I hope you and the new hubby

are doing well, and that the girls are enjoying their new daddy :-)

Welcome to the board. For me the combination of Remicade and Methotrexate is what works but everyone is different so it is a matter of trial and error before you finally get trial and success. Humira acts on the same general principle as Enbrel and Remicade but for some people one works much better than the others. Kineret is another biologic that acts on a different principle and on average is less successful than other drugs but for some people it works where all others fail. I don't know what drugs you have tried and found that they failed you but there are a lot of them. For some people one of the older drugs seems to be their magic one. Here's a link to some basic information about a lot of medicines. http://www.arthritisinsight.com/medical/meds/

Some people have good luck with antibiotic therapy as described in the Road Back Foundation http://www.roadback.org

Others have good luck with changes in diet and nutrition. http://arthritisinsight.com/living/diet/index.html Perhaps tests to determine food alergies will help to select a diet to try. I have no personal experience with this.

The important thing is to keep learning and trying different things until you find something that is successful for you. It might be different from what is successful for anyone else, but keep trying because something is out there. God bless.

Welcome to the group and sorry you have reason to be here. The things you are taking are not noted for slowing or stopping the permanent joint damage that usually comes from untreated RA. For that you need one or more DMARDs (Disease-Modifying Anti-Rheumatic Drugs) and these are usually prescribed by a rheumatologist. One of the mildest ones is Plaquenil, but a more common one is Methotrexate. Some people seem to do quite well with one or the other of these, but others need additional or different medication. You should be seeing a rheumatologist to get proper treatment.

My rheumatologist tells me that Glucosamine is for Osteoarthritis and not for RA. It doesn't hurt to take it but it doesn't help. I tried it for a while and got no benefit so I quit. Ibuprofen can tear up your stomach so it might not be a good idea to stay on that indefinitely. Otherwise your medications are probably helping somewhat but not like a DMARD would.

Most RA drugs take several weeks to months to become fully active so you need to get started with a DMARD as soon as you can. If you need quicker relief you can probably get it with Prednisone which is a corticosteroid. This is not like the body-building anabolic steroids. It usually acts quickly (a day or two) to lessen the pains associated with RA but it is not a DMARD. Also it often has troublesome side effects so it should be taken in as low a dose as needed to permit you to function, and it should be stopped as soon as something else is helping the RA symptoms. When I first got RA it is what kept me from being permanently bedridden but now with Methotrexate and Remicade I am off Prednisone except for special needs.

The site that I used initially to learn a lot about RA is http://arthritisinsight.healthology.com/ because it seems to have accurate information and be readable. A lot of things get too technical and of course there is a lot of misinformation on the web. Please feel free to ask any questions you have and someone here will probably try to help. We also appreciate whatever help you can offer to others. God bless.

Hi,I'm new here, just recently diagnosed but no surprise due to the pain I've been having for a few years. I'm not really sure what to do next regarding dealing/treating this disease. I've begun to research it a little, and plan to do more research when I can find the time. I work fulltime, go to school part time, and volunteer for a hepatitis C organization (I had hep c, too & responded to the treatment 4 years ago). I'm 44 and am pissed that I'm slowing down due to the pain. I take a multi vitamin, 1000mg. fish oil twice a day, 2 ibuprofen as an anti-inflammatory, and a glucosomine each day. What is the basic RA 101 info I need to know in order to be proactive in my treatment/ management? I appreciate any help.

Hi , welcome to the group. You write about the positive things

you are doing to fight RA but have you also tested for food

intollerances? Only you can do this as you have to be the judge of

how you feel. I'm personaly finding, since I did the detox program

that my body just doesn't want me to reintroduce any bread into my

diet. Prior to this I didn't think I had an issue with small

amounts of good quality whole wheat bread. Perhaps I do have an

intollerance to gluten and that would explain the difficulty.

Some of the things most common to have intollerance to are wheat

products, dairy products, night shade vegetables, fruits that fall

into the mold group (mellons)and red meats. Other things to avoid

are sugar and sugar substitutes, excepting stevia (which apparently

has no side effects and can be found in most health food stores),

all processed foods, salt, caffienne, cigarettes and alcohol

(yikes). Sounds like alot, I know but all of the above have been

noted as problems for some people and perhaps worth trying to cut

out if it would make a difference.

Olive oil is great, used cold and Dr Mercola highly suggests (many

will find this controversial) Coconut oil for any time you heat oil

as all other oils become toxic when heated to higher temperatures.

And water, lots of clean water to flush the toxins and hydrate the

organs.

Hope this helps.

Hello,

I am new to this group, I was drawn to it somehow. I am looking for

peace. I want to learn how to have inner peace, but patiently. I tend to

want to understand everything this minute...but I would like help as to

where I should start on my journey.

I want to teach my children how to meditate and relieve their stress. I

feel that I have an energy and intuition that is different than many. I

would like to direct this to help others as well as my own soul.

I lost my mother in December unexpectantly to a rare cancer called LMS,

and am pregnant with a baby girl due in just a couple of weeks. I have 2

children from a previous marriage, my mother was my cornerstone. I am

scared and angry. I want to feel peace and acceptance so I can introduce

my beautiful mother's memories to our daughter(I have remarried) in a

beneficial way not tramatic.

Please help me with my first baby step, as to a good starting place.

Whether it is reading material or some thing else...I am lost.

Thank you,

Dear ,

You have already taken your first baby step - you decided to ask for

help. That is always the best first step.

Your mother has not left you - look into the quiet places of your

heart and you will find her smiling back at you.

Do you currently meditate any? You need tranquility for both you and

your unborn daughter. Your next step is there. There are several

good meditations posted here, but if you are just beginning, try the

Meditation Techniques.pdf I posted. Good info for beginners.

Please feel free to contact me.

Namaste,

Chris
