Guest guest
the OCD websites and forums discuss Strep connection and link to Tourettes, it is out there but largely ignored. Interestingly was pretty OCD the last few days and today we have runny nose, hoarseness. When he had his tests done at ATT they said past Strep had occurred as with most of the population but wasn't present at the time of testing and if I remember correctly not considered an issue, but my understanding was that past strep could still be an issue. This is my problem with testing, they really are only a snapshot in time, we sent some of the best pooh ever produced off to the States last year, I knew when I seen it that it wasn't representative of what we see and ofcourse the results proved this, so how can anyone time testing? I just treat everything now by the appearance of the symptoms. Vicky

Guest guest
This is my experience Vicky, it is really difficult to be spot on with the testing. You can buy strips on the internet to home test to see if there's a current infection. The way I can tell best is just by looking at J's throat now and the behaviour during a flare is a nightmare - I feel sorry for him, his brain is completely stuck, we get terrible tics which are out of control and he will sing the same song over and over and play the same game 50 times or more, and my normally active and happy kid won't set foot out of the house (before the zithro he wouldn't go out for two weeks during Summer hols, then got the zithro - two days later, walking through town with us, not running away, just like any other child, and also he started using body language which he had never done, and for the first time in years, no hyper behaviour. My problem is only Zithro abx keeps J sane at the moment and you have to go to a doctor to get this, which means at this level, usually (but not always) testing. The pooh test is only part of it - kids with pandas have to have the ASO blood test and others. Not easy!
