Guest guest
I will be 51 years in this body in August so that categorizes me as a " master trainer " . I am not training, I am being. In addition to many years or weight " training " I have done many years of martial arts of several styles as a tournament participant. My most " fulfilling " is Jeet Kune Do after I left tournament ego mentality / desire over a decade ago. I jumped from planes many times... Frustratingly, I was always the biggest one and the first one on the door. I bemoaned the ride, and loved in the removal of my self from the transportation unit. I am very proud to have been discharged from unwilling military servitude as a conscientious objector. [How about this one? Pride is very " unZen " , for it displays attachment and a rationale for doing and being by being subservient to something like Pavlovian conditioning and Maslovian needing. If you always live like zat, mein freund, Zen vot? Mel Siff] I have " worked " so many protocols that I get overwhelmed at thinking about the " expert " systems that are " out there " . Seems to me... it comes down to the basics: 1. Decide what you want to be. 2. Determine what your time availability is. 3. Evaluate the equipment you have to utilize. 4. Commit to a protocol for a minimum of 2 weeks. After 4 weeks, you can apply the homework your doubts have motivated and establish a new protocol and keep your bio-molecular chemistry focused on catch-up reconfiguration/hypertrophy. We all seem to be looking for the " perfect " route to drive. We've all heard that it depends on our goal(s) and where we want to be. I present that we take a Zen approach and see where we are now... look to see where the next series of river stones are placed and decide which is right for where we, where the me-ego wants to be, will step next. Painstakingly, that means listening to others in order to attain ego-security in the decisions we pursue. Bottom line(s): Don't cause hurt to your body. There are many enough to do that for you. Listen to your JOINTS AND SKELETAL STRUCTURE. Your muscles can do much more than your bio-mechanical leverages will accomodate. Just as a long distance runner, your chief competator is yourself. You may confront or co-operate. These are answers only to those who, as all of us have, look for the one right way. Listen, then do where your heart and body will direct you. It's scarey as hell, and that's life. Jim Wellborn Crystal River, Florida
