Guest guest
We are getting slammed here in Arkansas. We are all ok. Our internet and cable are out as of now. I was able to acess email via cell phone. I have been in a really bad flare for the past 2 weeks with 4 days of spent visiting the resort. I am still hauing a terrible time with migraines.I can not get it under control. Any suggestions welcome. Here is the list of meds that I have tried MIDRIN, MAXALT,IMITREX,FROVA,MIGRANAL,DHE-45 BY IV (IT DID HELP BUT THE HEADACHE CAME BACK ON THE OTHER SIDE) STADOL AND PHENERGAN SHOTS, 3 ROUNDS OF DEMEROL AND PHENERGAN SHOTS. I hope everyone continues to be ok regarding IKE. I wish you all as much of a pain free day as possible. ANGELIA RUSSELLVILLE, AR - Ike 'n things Hello everyone~but especially our members dealing with that bloody storm. We here have been watching the weather, and praying that we will hear only good things from our little family ( not so little any more). I've been keeping up with the e-mails, and keeping fingers and everything crossible crossed lol. The Conference is fast approaching, and I am hoping that we have a good turn-out. Some of my favorite people will be absent this year. Elly Cudney and Barbara Gardner the dragonmis taking its toll and many more that escape me right now...( brain fog big time) hope I can find my way to the airport on the day....4 am is early guys. There are days I couldn't find my bum with both hands!!!LOLOL The Dragon has turned his attention to me, and I'm certainly not thrilled. Couldn't have come at a crappier time. I have had to take a week off from my Counselling, and I hate leaving clients in the lurch. This is of course a volunteer position, but people get used to having me available. My new doctor has been very thorough, doing bone desity scans, x-rays of lungs, a cardio pulmonary test, then more x-rays for neck and shoulder and hips...I should begin glowing anytime soon....it wont be the Northern lights you'll be seeing It'll be me!!!lol To all of our members,a big thank you for being the wonderful, warm and caring people that you are, special thanks go out to Marty and Ellen, Bob and Carole Himes ( without whom there would be no Foundation). To Uncle Fuzz who informs us and makes us laugh to the wives and husbands and families and friends of SD dragon slayers who love and support their loved ones. I thank you all! Regards Cat may the dragon miss you and the Angels find you! __________________________________________________________________ Yahoo! Guest guest
Angelia, Hang in there sweetie. Hope the worst hast passed allready. I woke up here in Branson, MO with rain hitting the windows (hard) and limbs hitting the house sometime in the early morning. I looked outside and WOW we had a pretty decent storm to be so far from the Ocean. Anyway, I'm not sure when you will get this, but I noticed you had taken Imitrex. I tried it in pill form a couple times and it didn't do squat for my headache. Then my doc told me that his wife really responded to the imitrex injectable form. I tried that and BINGO I have not had a headache I couldn't control in a couple of years. My question to you is, did you try Imitrex pills or injections, or both? If you haven't tried the injection, you might ask your doc about it. I just drove to on AR yesterday to visit family and I could see it getting really dark to the south. Hope you get power back soon! Hang in there. Feel better soon Branson, MO

Guest guest
Hi Angelia (love that name!), I was on Topamax for migraines associated with a condition I have called Pseudotumor Cerebri. I had a spinal tap to remove excess cerebral fluid that was pressing on my brain and eyes and creating the original pain, but I was still having migraines after... the Topamax worked in my case. You might want to ask your doctor about it. Good luck, and glad to hear you are okay... no power must be awful, but at least the threat of being blown/washed away is over. Just the clean up left... my thoughts are with you and all the others. Except ... she knows when to bolt! , Ellen is right, enjoy the vacation, you have every right! I doubt there is one of your friends, family, or neighbors that would wish you home. Have a flowery drink, and enjoy the wedding! Guest guest
Angelia darling: I'm sorry there are no sure fire, quick fix ways to relieve the headache or the flare you're having. Once Ike is done, I can almost guarantee you'll feel better (I did and we didn't really get hit with it). Please make sure your doctor knows all the meds you are taking and how often. I've had experience where I've actually had too many meds at once and THAT caused migraines and a flare. At this point, go into a darkened room and lie down until the storm is done. Perhaps and cool cloth across your forehead or on the back of your neck is in order but I wouldn't be able to tell you much more than that. As I said, make sure your doctor knows what you're taking along with any over the counter stuff or vitamins/herbs and things like that. Feel better please. Take care and be well and stay away from the windows (just in case). Ellen
